Lord & Savior - The Only Way To Heaven
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. ~ John 14:6
I know it's not a popular belief in the secular world that there could be just one way to Heaven. But it's the truth and I'm not going to sugar coat it. When I take communion daily, I envision Jesus sitting at the table with His 12 disciples as He introduced to them (and us) the holy act of communion. One day I decided to go deeper, and I saw what I'd never even realized. Jesus didn't just die one day so we could go to Heaven. Nope. He was tortured to death. He was brutally beaten beyond words. He was spat on and horrifically abused. Giant nails were hammered into His wrists and feet into a wooden cross. A crown of thorns was put on His head. He suffered pain like you can't imagine. He allowed His own CREATION to murder Him.
When I saw this in my mind's eye as I prepared to take communion, I broke down and wept. He did that for us?!?! Why?!?! Because He loved us that much! He chose to let Himself be put through all of that in the physical, until death, and then He went to Hell immediately afterwards and changed the course of human life, offering salvation through Him.
1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

I'd like to take a moment to emphasize something. We hear the phrase "Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior" almost as if we are doing God some sort of favor. Reality is, we aren't accepting a hand out, we are being OFFERED the ability to escape HELL. We are being offered the most significant, most amazing, most perfect gift we could ever dream or imagine. We should graciously, with praise and adoration and the utmost respect towards God Almighty, receive the salvation through Jesus Christ.
He's A Real Person, And You Can Have A Real Relationship With Him
Something that is necessary to understand in our walk with God is that Jesus Christ is a REAL person. So often we think of Him in Biblical terms, and not modern. We imagine Him as He spoke with His disciples, how He taught large crowds and how He set people free from demons and disease. But after His resurrection, the Bible tells us He took His seat at the right hand of God the Father. (Now He works through His people in the laying on of hands, casting out demons, healings, etc.)
Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. ~ Matthew 26:64
29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

There's an old song that goes "Oh, what a friend we have in Jesus" and that is very true, but we must do our part. A friendship is not one-sided. It takes at least two in order for a friendship to exist. This was something I had to learn, and it was an exciting revelation to me because I've never been someone with many friends. I picture, in my mind, Jesus. I see Him both in Heaven, on His throne or walking and talking to people. I visualize Him sometimes in the room with me while I'm praying, because I know He hears my prayers. He's watching us, listening to us, and He loves us. Isn't that wonderful?
One thing I cannot stress enough, though, is the importance of establishing and maintaining a genuine and strong prayer life. Those who have been used greatly of God in this world tend to have one thing in particular in common: they kept prayer as a top priority.
Studying God's Word and talking to/with Him in prayer is the key to great joy and success in life. Become friends with Jesus, and with the Holy Spirit that's within you. Reverence our Father God. (If this is confusing at all, please read my article on the One God Trinity). You are never alone when you are a born again Christian. You have access to amazing and beautiful things, all within you, because the Spirit of God dwells in you, when you are truly a born again Christian.
